Programming and Farming
Given my escapade this past year with raising goats (which I've had to put temporarily on hold), and prior years trying my hand at gardening for the family, I was very interested when I came across this interesting robot. My first thought is this is a cute, but a little impractical for farming needs. I think you could incorporate this bot modified to carry and dispense water and water sensors near each plant to have your own automated garden tender. It also has infrared and 720p cameras, which you could probably use to detect insects. I wonder if it would have the dexterity to manually pluck the insects off, or at the least you could have it spray them. If you have enough you might even be able to keep chickens away from the plants. Currently at $950 it's a bit expensive, but might be worth investigating at half that price.
